Good Thursday Morning. Bringing you an abbreviated, “snack size” version of SBP this week.
#1: The W’s fans have Fever fever
Saturday's Liberty vs. Fever game cracked the top five for most-watched WNBA regular-season games of the last two seasons.
Unsurprisingly, all five games feature the Fever. The top three are games between Indiana and Chicago.

🗯️ My thought bubble: This is unsurprising given Caitlin Clark’s mega stardom. The league is in an interesting position here, though: how do you balance focusing on Clark’s magnetic effect to drive the league to new heights (she was responsible for ~26% [!!!] of the league’s economic activity last year according to NBC News) while also promoting other stars to diversify and mitigate risk if Clark gets hurt?
This is the exact scenario the league is in right now with Clark currently out for a few weeks with a quad strain. Get-in prices for the Fever’s next few away games — almost all of which were moved to bigger arenas to take advantage of Clark’s pull — are down as much as 70% and will not see anywhere close to the demand as before.
To me, it’s a signal the league should index more paid promotion to the other stars (A’ja Wilson, Napheesa Collier, and Paige Bueckers would be my top three suggestions) while letting the natural inertia of the Clark phenomenon do most of the work.
#2: Somebody’s chopping onions at Roland Garros as the legends honor Rafa
Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer and Andy Murray surprised Rafael Nadal at his Roland-Garros farewell ceremony 🥹👏
4 TENNIS LEGENDS. 🎾💯

#3: The most watched Indy 500 in nearly 20 years
🗯️ My thought bubble: Between this huge race, the Pacers on the brink of reaching the NBA Finals, and the Fever dominating with Caitlin Clark, is Indianapolis the sports capital of America for the summer?
#4: First Take doing First Take things
The First Take studio lost power, so they filmed the show in the hallway.
Chris Russo:
"If they didn't pay Stephen A. $400 million, maybe they could pay their freakin' bills, ESPN!"

#5: Very fun activation between Max Homa and Chipotle
Max Homa and Chipotle have released a foil-wrapped burrito head cover and shag bag with COBRA Golf.
Homa is a Chipotle superfan and also his own burrito bowl.
